Glastonbury 2010 Tickets have Officially SOLD OUT

The time is 21:25 – Within the last 5 minutes Glastonbury 2010 Tickets have sold out.

If you have not got one by now then your out of luck.

Did you get one or did you get screwed by seetickets?

Glastonbury Sold Out

Lots of unhappy people this year :(

There have been tons of comments from people who had trouble getting on the site after a full day of trying. We had our tickets within 7 minutes. This will be my 12th Glastonbury since 1996. I feel for all those who have wasted a day.

What do you think of the way seetickets handled this years distribution?

I think seetickets done a shabby job. 180,000 tickets – in terms on internet usage 180,000 is not a whole lot. Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and tons of other sites are able to cope with 50 times this demand without a hitch. Seetickets will make a fortune out of this, the least they could do is invest some money in their servers. Something should be  done about it.

I’m still waiting for a confirmation email after putting my payment details in at 9:20am. If I have missed out I will be very very unhappy, as I’m sure thousands of other people will be.

  2. Westo on October 4th, 2009 9:34 pm

Can’t believe it man! Was away for the weekend just back now and they’re sold out! Will there be a re-issue or is there anything I can do ?

  3. flashT on October 4th, 2009 9:45 pm

Spent 5hrs trying to get thru online and on the phone….. got to the site…… and then they were sold out!!
    Really really not happy……

  4. Matt on October 4th, 2009 9:52 pm

Was in the “que” for tickets at 9.05AM and have been all day. Just found out they are sold out. GUTTED!!!

  5. Dave on October 4th, 2009 9:52 pm

Got through to payment page, entered my details and submitted, never got any further so absolutely no idea whether I have a ticket or not, kept clicking back and refresh and re-submitting my payment detaisls card number etc but didnt receive any confirmation. Trued going back through to see if my resgistration number had been used but cant even do that now as its sold out – phone lines are dead as-well – what a bunch of clowns…!

Maybe i have got a ticket who knows….!

  6. kelly on October 4th, 2009 9:57 pm

I’m gutted, i’m going to get it in the neck! I can’t not go… It’s not fair, i really really need, really really need to get tickets……

  7. Craig on October 4th, 2009 10:01 pm

I was fortunate and got the 3 tickets I wanted but I wasnt impressed (again) with Seetickets. I am sure thsy could have managed this better. I am sorry for anyone who missed out but please try again in April when they release any tickest that dont get the final payment made on them.

  8. m@ on October 4th, 2009 10:07 pm

i got thru but soon as i entered card details it loaded then said no nodes availble?? dunno what that means but when i came to log in again it said both my numbers was taken? so i dont kno if i have tix or not? i hope so else somebodies birthday is ruined!

  9. Joe on October 4th, 2009 10:08 pm

Does this meen that all tickets are sold out, and that there are no places left for the festival? If so what the hell.

  10. Charlotte on October 4th, 2009 10:13 pm

    i still havent had an e-mail! :(
my friend said his came through the next day last year so who knows, i suppose sorting through thousands of people’s address’ takes time.
Still, should have been more prepared!

  11. Catherine. on October 4th, 2009 10:14 pm

I am livid. Been on the site since 9am queueing until the website crashed, then retrying until it crashes again etc etc. Easily ran up a £20 bill on my home line calling up the box office- only to be put on hold, then be cut off. Gave up an entire day to get 2 single tickets and have nothing. It really shouldn’t be that hard.

  12. aysha on October 4th, 2009 10:17 pm

Has anyone has confirmation emails yet after buying tickets through seetickets??

  13. dawn on October 4th, 2009 10:18 pm

had my tickets 10/15 minuet’s after 9am ….(wasnt expecting that to happen. lol.!!….but ver y glad it did..!)..i always gear myself up for some serious stressing, and agonising as to will i or wont i?? but aparta from a few hairy moments of losing the page after a few attempts up popped the confirmation window…
    …”THE MAN FROM DELMONTE,,HE SAY,,,YEEESSSS”!!!
    :O) x

  14. Richard Smith on October 4th, 2009 10:25 pm

    Absolute shambles.

It wasn’t this bad last year or the year before. This reminds me of the disaster the first year I bought them online.

So I submitted payment details and now have no idea whether I have tickets or not. No confirmation e-mail yet!

  15. Craig on October 4th, 2009 10:27 pm

I must have entered my payment info at least 6 or 7 times and it kept on crashing. Then I had to start from scratch entering my registration number again and it came up that a deposit had already been taken. I hope this means I have tickets, but I never saw a confirmation screen and I haven’t yet received a confirmation email. I think the service provided by seetickets has been pathetic today, sure there has obviously been a huge volume of people trying to buy tickets, but surely thats to be expected with a festival as popular as Glasto and more should have been done to make the site run smoothly. Surely once you get to the page where you enter your payment details it ought to go through. Not impressed.

  16. Rob on October 4th, 2009 10:29 pm

Everyone I know has managed to get tickets OK – tho some still waiting for confirmation emails. Feel sorry for people who didn’t get them, but nothing Seetickets could do I don’t think, fact is more people wanted tickets than there were to go around, there were bound to be some disappointed people. Harsh if you were trying all day tho.

  17. Connie on October 4th, 2009 10:30 pm

Got 2 tickets at 9.15, with confirmation email an hour later; got another ticket for a friend at 9.45, confirmation email at 3 pm, and another ticket at 9.55, with confirmation email at 6pm.
I was lucky, considering 180000 tickets were sold and many more people probably trying, no wonder we got kicked out several times. Easy to blame SEETICKETS, I know they are not brilliant but there is only so much the servers can take.

  18. ruby on October 4th, 2009 10:33 pm

i booked between half past 9 and 10am…. the confirmation email arrived (finally) at 10.08PM! 12 agonising hours not knowing if i had a ticket! I was one of the people who got a 404 error after entering card details so if this happened to you and no email i say keep wating! Seetickets have been rubbish, nobody got enought info as to wether they had go t a ticket or not… thousands of people have wasted a whole day.
i am sorry for people who didnt manage to get them all day.. try try for returns! c u in june :)

  19. chris nothard on October 4th, 2009 10:38 pm

got my 3 tickets i wanted within 10mins of lines opening , then went back on at 10am as ma mates internet wasent working and got an other ticket for him within minuites , no problems whats so ever ,

  20. katie on October 4th, 2009 10:38 pm

I spent the whole day trying to get tix too. I think they should re release more tickets as this is just unfair. Seetickets had a serious issue with booking, maybe they should have it over 3 days so people have a fair go and the server can cope:(

  21. Erik on October 4th, 2009 10:41 pm

I got mine at around 9.30 without any problems and received the confirmation email at around 8:30pm…

I phoned some friends to see how they were getting on getting tickets only to get the response of: “they are on sale today?!” lol, they still managed to get theirs, unfortunately some others had not even registered so they couldnt get them but they will try on the next resell and will register tommorrow.

I am amazed that they sold so many tickets today and that there are so many people that couldnt get them! just shows this is the best festival, will be my 4th time! cant wait.

  22. Naomi on October 4th, 2009 10:43 pm

I am disgusted as usual with the farce of “fairness” when buying Glasto tix. Myself and partner were up first thing at 9am and were trying all day…. unfortunately the web kept saying that his registration number or postcode were not recognised. We tried on our home phone, both mobile phones, the registration checker link on seetickets to get help to no avail. The phone kept cutting us off after about 2mins. In the end we decided we had no choice but to get a ticket for me and persevere to get thro on the phonelines to get help for him. I think I have mine but haven’t had an email. However the festivals now sold out and as it stands if I do have a ticket I’ll be on my tod… I am so ANGRY!! It isn’t a fair system at all. We live in the countryside and our nearest exchange doesn’t provide us with the whizzy super quick broadband connection people who live in a large city may have. We know for sure that the registration number we have for him is correct but I doubt we’ll get any explanation of why this happened or an apology. They know that the tickets will sell regardless so really don’t give a toss.

  23. screwed@screwed.com on October 4th, 2009 10:46 pm

    Screwed!!!!

  24. Lorna on October 4th, 2009 10:47 pm

I spent the whole day online / on the phone trying to get 2 tickets, no luck at all and I’m gutted! The furthest I got was inputting my registration number but then the site crashed again. Once on the phone I was held in a queue for 1 hour before simply being cut off – was on my mobile so I dread to think what that call cost!!!

  25. jase baxter on October 4th, 2009 11:03 pm

surley they cannot have sold all the tickets in 1 day…..thats got too be bullshite

  26. Rob on October 4th, 2009 11:12 pm

I had the same problem as everybody else.

Finally managed to speak to an advisor at about 9pm who told me that if I saw a message saying that my deposit had already been taken then I will “100% have tickets”, and that the confirmation email would arrive tomorrow.

But he also told me that no confirmation emails had been sent out today, which is obviously a lie!

Still wont believe that I have tickets until I see it.

    In summary… terrible service seetickets!

  27. fuck you on October 4th, 2009 11:13 pm

That Goddamn pig fucker farmer has fucked things up again, all lll fucking day for nothing!!! Took 40 fucking years to get things half right and it’ll be good riddance to see the back of him. Making millions on th e shit of others

  28. Lisa on October 4th, 2009 11:13 pm

Seems like I had the same problem as loads of you, entered the card details then never got any kind of confirmation, kept crashing and not reloading. Got told that the registration number had had a deposit taken, even though only halfway through the payment! Well, keep checking the e-mails I guess and keep my fingers and toes crossed!

  29. Harriet on October 4th, 2009 11:17 pm

All 12 of my friends and I got our tickets fine, easiest year for buying. When it comes to 180,000 people vs. technology, there are going to be casualties unfortunately :-(

  30. manc on October 4th, 2009 11:18 pm

Commiseration’s to all those who lost out, I completed the online process at 9:20am and received the email at 14.43 I just hope the card process runs smoothly.

Those who had problems online as I did initially were probably cause by clogging on the servers not just at seetickets but your local exchange (especially those living in areas with similar minded ppl). My friends got tickets in April for glasto 2009 so all is not lost. lots of card details will be entered wrong and people whose mates didn’t get tickets will take the £10 hit and get a refund.

  31. Helen on October 4th, 2009 11:23 pm

I was very lucky because I got tickets almost dead on 9am, but I wonder if this is something to do with the speed of broadband in my area, (I’m in Greater London). Could it be that people in areas with a slower broadband speed are having problems getting onto the ticket websites? I hope this isn’t the case, it would be most unfair.

  32. nicki on October 4th, 2009 11:25 pm

No tickets for me, looks like I am going to have to camp on See tickets door and express my disgust for them ruining my 30th

    Yeah, thanks for that!

  33. jase baxter on October 4th, 2009 11:26 pm

I STILL NOT SURE THEY HAVE SOLD ALL THE TICKETS TODAY

  34. jase baxter on October 4th, 2009 11:31 pm

not sure if its a braodband thing at all , the internet can cope with more traffic then that. its probibly those toads at seeticket are running on a swhoes string. my internet is spot on i live in a city but still have had problems all day on the phone and on the net. im hoping that there is still abit of hope , as i have read that some folks was having issue with payments and stuff eg not even putting in the card details but getting the screen that says payment complete. im hoping that its that screwwed to day that they dont even know if they have tickets or not. all i can see is i hope we all get some , at moment me and my wife are gutted

  35. Han on October 4th, 2009 11:46 pm

Had no problems today at all. was really dreading it as it is my first time at Glastonbury and I have heard what a nightmare getting tickets can be. Woke up at 8.45, logged on pc and by 8.58 I had purchased 2 ticks no hassle, minus some minor refreshing and time-out errors. Received my confirmation by 9.38am. S’pose I may have been lucky mind.

  36. Joe on October 5th, 2009 12:19 am

    Systenm is BullS**t! Needs sortin!

  37. Alex on October 5th, 2009 12:20 am

I have had the same problem as all of you it seems! Entered all my details and had to keep refreshing every page…finally entered by card details and never got any further.

When I came out and tried again it said a deposit had already been made against my registration number.

Still haven’t had the confirmation email and it’s 12.20am now!

Although it looks like the money has come out of my bank account so I am PRAYING this means I have tickets.

Even if I have a ticket, I think it’s appaling that they will take the money out of your account before telling you you’ve been successful.

  38. daniel on October 5th, 2009 12:24 am

I think I have tickets but none of us have received emails yet, anyone else still waiting? Getting jittery now I know I can’t just rebook if it didn’t go through :\

  39. Tony on October 5th, 2009 12:32 am

Long time Glastonbury attendee. This will hopefully be my 15th but I still don’t know if I have a ticket. It’s rubbish. Just sort it out. Why do we have this crap every year? I’d rather know I didn’t get a ticket but the system was good than lose out throught incompetance. Shame.

  40. Amanda Graham on October 5th, 2009 12:37 am

hugely disappointing…. you register, you put the date in the diary… you can’t get through online or on the phone… for hours we tried

  41. james on October 5th, 2009 12:44 am

how come they were sold out in feb last year but within a day this year? Been trying all day and been getting fucked off. I’m not happy at all. how many people attened last year? was it more than 180,000?

  42. cheryl on October 5th, 2009 1:10 am

it does suck when you cant get a ticket, or have spent hours trying…but why are people so surprised? this is my 6th successful glasto ticket buy and i expect nothing less…tons of people want to go and are trying at the same time and only 190000 tickets, its not micheal eavis fault or seetickets…and ther’s usually a resale closer to when loadsa people dont go through with paying their balances..so good luck and keep watching for the resale!

  43. confirmations r us on October 5th, 2009 1:28 am

bring back the good days when we qued at HMW, VIRGIN and other outlets then the people who really wanted tickets got them :)

  44. Freaky on October 5th, 2009 1:37 am

Don’t be such a drama merchant.
The majority of those ’sales’ will be deposits and until the balance is paid, they are not ’sold;. There will lots up for resale people, so just keep checking.

  45. BRIT on October 5th, 2009 2:23 am

why the hell did it sell out???? Glastonbury rarely sells out. can’t they release more tickets? I swear there were more than 180,000 this summer….

  46. Rich on October 5th, 2009 5:47 am

Glastas sells out every year, usually within hours, sometimes it takes a bit longer. Comments such as those from BRIT are just poorly informed. They can’t just ‘release a few more’ as they have a license to adhere to with maximum number of punters.

We got through to the booking website at around 8:55am (ie before they were even due on sale) and the process completed at 9:02. We then logged back into check that our confirmation numbers were showing up as “already used”, which is a confirmation of sorts that the order has been received.

Quite frankly, if you really wanted to go and have been doing so for years, then you would have been prepared and ready with a fast broadband connection the moment the tix went on sale…. Sorry to those who missed out but there it is.

  47. Emma on October 5th, 2009 6:42 am

Loads of us are in the same boat it seems. Server crashed once i put my payment details in, no conformation email and unable to try again as told my deposit has been payed. Fingers crossed that i’ve got one, dont want to go through that again, was soo stressed yesterday and still dont know if i got a ticket.

  48. vincent webb on October 5th, 2009 7:43 am

sat for 12 hours trying to get registration number, no reg number , no ticket , disgrace

  49. Gordon Hegarty on October 5th, 2009 8:09 am

havnt got a confirmation email yet. if i’ve missed out i wnt b happy!!!!

  50. Lorraine on October 5th, 2009 9:02 am

I had trouble getting tickets site kept crashing and put my card details in and then it crashed. Tried again and it said I couldmnt try again as my reference number had paid deposit but I had no confirmation email. this was at about 10:30. Luckily I received confirmation email this morning.

  51. Tom on October 5th, 2009 9:02 am

Got 2 tickets about 4 mintutes before 9.00am without the website crashing once. after informing my friends they asked if i could get thiers (about 9.15) website slow but hit f5 a couple of times and managed to get another 2. feel for everyone who didnt get one but tbh i didnt struggle much at all.

  52. phil on October 5th, 2009 9:05 am

i purchased 3 tickets no problem at all and got the confermation email with in 2 hours.

  53. Liza Poole on October 5th, 2009 9:12 am

What the hell!! I registered last year, ticked the box for ongoing registration, phoned on fri where I gave them my reg number and was told I WAS still registered (she even read back all my details to me.)Sunday…….”sorry, you`re NOT registered”(!!), can`t register till monday(!!)….and now they`re *#*$@# SOLD OUT!!This is a very poorly organised and unfair system.

  54. Emma on October 5th, 2009 9:17 am

Everyone who didnt get tickets, in like JAN/Feb they elease a few more of cancellation tickets.

My e-mail came like 16 hours after buying the tickets!

  55. Angelino on October 5th, 2009 9:30 am

    hello

i’m so sorry that you’ve had to deal with getting your tickets in a whopping 7 minutes and that it’s your 13th Glastonbury festival. My heart bleeds for you, it really does.

For the record, all ticket company sites are crap when 300 000 plus are trying to apply.

    Enjoy the gig,

  56. plynch on October 5th, 2009 9:44 am

arrr .. got the payment page twice…each time it came back with no nodes available… then couldnt connect for the rest of the day… then SOLD OUT….

    unbelievable

  57. r whitehead on October 5th, 2009 9:48 am

couldn’t even get on the site !
very disappointed in the service but of course nothing we can do about it now.
    Extremely poor

  58. Catherine on October 5th, 2009 10:11 am

Tried last night, entered all my payment details and system crashed, then tried again and it said deposit has already been paid for this reg no! I have been calling See tickets all morning, and it just goes to a silent line, then cuts off. I havent had a confirmation email. All my friends and my bf have got theirs and im the only one that hasnt received any confirmation, and coudlnt even try again, cos it says my reg has already been used. WTF! The website is crap! I dont understand why an event such as Glasto doesnt use a big player like Ticketmaster, they are much more efficient and can easily handle this amount of traffic! See tickets are a small player in the scale of things and clearly cannot handle this. x

  59. olıver on October 5th, 2009 10:43 am

had loads of trouble tryıng to register rang the helpline they told me to go through see tickets what i did but no confermation email tried ringing them no joy there eıther spent 3 days of my holiday abroad trying to sort this out this out. pathetic

  60. Christine on October 5th, 2009 10:44 am

Why can’t you register this morning like they promised? It says registration is closed. What’s going on?

  61. Joanne Fairclough on October 5th, 2009 10:45 am

We had trouble with reg number had confirmation through but it kept getting knocked back, all our group have ticketts bar one who had this trouble. Cant seem to be able to speak to anyone about it. has anyone got any suggestions?

  62. Garry on October 5th, 2009 10:47 am

I think that seetickets have done the worst job imaginable! However, I also think that the Glastonbury web services have been appalling!
Having lost my registration, I e-mailed Friday, Saturday and Sunday and got no reply from anyone. I tried to do the online retrieval, also with no success. Finally, i thought I’d try by phone. I got through, but was then cut off after holding for about 5 minutes. I’m not too sure about how anyone else feels, but I think that Mr Eavis and Co. should really consider another vendor for supplying tickets to the festival!!

  63. kayleigh on October 5th, 2009 11:00 am

Well im happy i got a ticket! My first year so shld be good however unfortently my friend missed out…But guys guys guys wen people dont pay their balance in feb remember u can purchase one then! just keep ur fingers crossed between feb and april to get one! Also uve got to expect the website to crash especially wen there is over 200,000 people on one site doing exactly the same thing…it happens every year with reading festival so dont moan about it crashing…it has got to be expected! But keep checking in 2010 and everyone who got tickets….see ya there!!! :D

  64. Elaine Shinners on October 5th, 2009 11:02 am

I had my reg no but my son forgot to save his from prev year spent all day trying to retrieve his number, site crashed every time. Now no tickets for either us !

  65. Ian Hookham on October 5th, 2009 11:05 am

I spent 4 hours trying to get through yesterday. If I got through on the phone I was told I was on hold for the next available operator and the phone then cut off. When I tried seeticket I tried several times and even got as far as visa card details only for the website to time out. The website was incredibly slow and was clearly totally unprepared for the volume of traffic.

I dont mind the system of queuing, but having got my place in the queue on both phone and website I feel its totally unfair that I have missed out.

  66. Nicholas Wilkes on October 5th, 2009 11:51 am

I tried via the internet and phone from 9.30 until 9.30 last night to get a ticket, the phone was constantly engaged, I got to the point of entering the registration number and agreeing to the contact/address details and then the site went down – this happened many many times ! They should have been more organised knowing the number of tickets being sold !!

  67. Amy on October 5th, 2009 11:51 am

Really really really annoyed that i didnt get tickets!
Is it true that more tickets go on sale next april/may though? I heard this from a friend, and that only half the tickets were going on sale yesterday.

  68. Jonathan on October 5th, 2009 11:59 am

    Most definitely a shabby job.
I only just got my order confirmation this morning, however I was getting worried, as I had placed my order details in, and got sent to a queue system, where I was, after several hours, re-routed to a page saying that all the tickets were sold out.

And for a site whose sole purpose is to distribute tickets for major events, the servers are terrible, whether they set up a server limit themselves to try and filter the amount of people through the day or not, I don’t know, but they could do with updating their servers. As you say, sites like Myspace, Facebook, even 4chan, a site run by just a young man in his mid 20s can handle far greater traffic than Seetickets apparerntly can.

What annoys me is that they can feel happy putting people in a queue after they have placed their order, surely we should be sent straight to a page letting us know that our order was placed and we will recieve e-mail confirmation. That’s how they generaly handle Reading festival, and while even getting Reading or Leeds tickets is stressful, at least you are given some form of comfort after placing your card details with them.

  69. manc on October 5th, 2009 12:01 pm

copied from wikipedia (I went in 2004 and i was up till 3am getting tickets)

In 2004, tickets sold out within 24 hours amid much controversy over the ticket ordering process, which left many potential festival goers trying for hours to connect to the overloaded telephone and internet sites. The website got two million attempted connections within the first five minutes of the tickets going on sale and an average of 2,500 people on the phone lines every minute.

    2007

the festival had the largest attendance since the construction of the security fence, and the largest legitimate attendance to date: ticket allocation was raised by 27,500 to 137,500, which were charged at £145 and sold out in 1 hour 45 minutes

Its always a pain getting tickets.

  70. manc on October 5th, 2009 12:05 pm

    2010
The Glastonbury Festival 2010 will take place between 23 and 27 June 2010. Tickets went on sale on 4 October 2009, with the £50 deposit scheme introduced at the previous festival being continued. [50] Over half the tickets were sold in the first two hours of availability, and all 180,000 of the first batch were sold out after just 12 hours. the final 13,000 or so go on sale in April

  71. Lynne Pollard on October 5th, 2009 12:28 pm

Never had such bad service. Tried all morning, but had trouble with the website not accepting my postcode on my registration number. So phoned continuously and got through 3 times only to be cut off after the automated message. The 4th time I managed to get though after 3 hours I ended up in a queue on the premium line, but gave up after half an hour of waiting. Can not believe they have the nerve to charge £5 per person for such shoddy service.

  72. Lee on October 5th, 2009 12:35 pm

I think that it is a sham that you are unable to purchase a ticket due to the fact that seetickets do not have large enough servers to hold the volume of people trying to access their site. I myself got access to seetickets on sunday, I got all the way through to the payment stage, I entered my details and then BAM! page cannot be displayed, which is very concerning when dealing with my bank details, I am concerned with the way this is done. If seetickets rented access to some big servers for the ticket launch date then all people would be able to access the site and buy tickets, obviously the tickets would sell out sooner but if you are able to get on and buy then its your own fault if you don’t get up early enough to purchase one. People sitting at pc’s all day getting nowhere, only to be shunted by a message that they have sold out is shocking and goes against the whole general ethos of the festival. I have not recieved my confirmation as yet, all my friends have, so I am presuming that I am not going.

got tickets ten past nine me wife and 17 year old daughter its on my tick list of things to do cannot wait

  74. Ed on October 5th, 2009 12:59 pm

Like many others I was online for 12 and a half hours yesterday and tried the phone line several hundred times. Lack of fairness is an issue – particularly
    - no queuing system
    - no proper messaging about what is happening – particularly after putting in payment details.
It was also a real pain having to buy deposit and full price tickets separately. I managed to buy the deposit ones – only put in the card details once for those – but despite putting in the card details 3 times, don’t appear to have full price tickets.
Think Glastonbury should definitely stop using seetickets. It wasn’t a bun fight Emily, it was carnage

  75. kerry on October 5th, 2009 1:20 pm

i am dissapointed with how they all went about it this year. i tried all day and couldn’t get through and a lot of othere people are saying the same thing happend to them. after the tickets got sold out theyu should of said when the next lot are going to be coming out. everyone should of just been able to have just gone on and got a ticket with out the wait. this is the internet not the phone line!!!!!!!!!!!!

  76. kevin arnold on October 5th, 2009 1:35 pm

The phone sysyem was a shambles. When you get through it says wait for the next available operator then after holding for 4 mins it cuts off. I have rang over 10 times and this has happened!! Been trying See tickets all day today as I need to cancell one ticket but line just cuts out. Ticketmaster much better

  77. Claire on October 5th, 2009 2:02 pm

Got 5 tickets yesterday within about 20 minutes of trying but the website kept crashing all the time so wasn’t sure if i had tickets or not until the confirmation came through – have now been informed today that as the card details were processed several times (due to the website crashing) my bank has now declined my tickets, rang seetickets as they haven’t processed the payment yet and they said theres nothing i can do so i now have to wait until they try and process the payment (which will fail) before i can even reattempt to get any resale ones!! COMPLETELY GUTTED :( (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

and what happened to the secure code section mentioned on the official glastonbury website because that didn’t happen at all for me! very worrying!

  79. paul on October 5th, 2009 2:09 pm

tried and tried early sunday morning with hang over from hell and looking at the comments here was very lucky, kept kicking me out took payment details then nothing until i tried again and it said reg numbers already used. as it seemed i had tickets ( maybe ? !!!) i took a gamble and came off site so others could get thru but i wonder how many people didnt know if they had tix or not and kept on line, blocking out others trying, many i think which is so unfair. rainbow on the horizon was that last year i did know people who got their tickets in april so put it in your diaries guys and good luck.

  81. groover on October 5th, 2009 3:19 pm

don’t worry all those who didn’t get tickets there are plenty of other good festivals around. don’t get me wrong i would have loved to get a ticket for the 40th year celebrations. however i have been left a bit tainted over recent years at glasto, with ticketing, it now well overcrowded and they are just seem to be cashing in big time with the same formula! aside from the music, which i would argue with others hasn’t been all that vintage over the last few years, what used to mark glasto appart was all the peripheral stuff but that has all been a bit same old same old with little investment. performance art has moved on so much since the ‘tea ladies’ and circus acts that keep appearing year in year out. i for one am looking forward to supporting a couple other smaller festivals this year.

  82. Lorena on October 5th, 2009 5:00 pm

Well, I have a weird story about glasto tix, I’ve tried as everybody did at 9 am, but the system crashed and the phone line cut me off several times, and the same thing happened during all the morning, 3 hours later I decided to do nothing, I was really angry and tired, then, at 3 pm aprox I’ve done my last bid and I spent like 15 minutes to access to the system, finally I did it but I wasn’t pretty sure if I really bought it. 16 hours later i’m here with my email confirmation. Wow!! It’s so… unbelievable that I got my tix 6 hours later!!!! Maybe I’m a lucky girl, the luckiest girl at this moment….

  84. Mary on October 5th, 2009 6:06 pm

We’ve had no email confirmation either – despite entering all card details and paying for tickets and then being told, when we gave it another go that we’d already paid a deposit against those tickets. Seems a real shambles…. friends I’m going with now have all their email confirmations.

  85. dave cox on October 5th, 2009 7:20 pm

  86. Andrea on October 5th, 2009 7:36 pm

Not to add paranoia to the mix – BUT
Got 2 tickets plus campervan – whoopee – at about 5 mins past 9.00am after we armed ourselves ready with two laptops, one computer, two mobiles and one landline. Again, had the same problems as everyone else (but not for as long – thankfully!) with the site crashing, etc, got to the end and still was’nt sure if OK. No bank verification request on debit card. Confirmation e mail received approx 3 hours later. HOWEVER, the bank transaction was not ‘real time’ as the available balance on bank account had not changed until this morning – 24 hours later. Therefore, were the details entered manually at a later date – how secure can this be?? Were there lots of temps at See Tickets entering card details separately from the web site?? How can we be certain of the security of our bank card details??

This year you screened SOULPOWER with BIG BLACK ON CONGOS – how about having the master handdrummer BIG BLACK himself in 2010 – we are putting together a world tour and would love to have him there at GLASTONBURY beneath Glastonbury Tor in 2010 – BIG BLACK AND THE SOUL TRAVELERS -
Let me know – wALKT sYLVESTER

  89. walter sylvester on October 5th, 2009 10:03 pm

    Hi,
I am the manager of Danny Ray a/k/a Big Black, who was featured in the film SOULPOWER, which I understand you screened at Glastonbury this year. Danny would like to appear there in 2010 – You can catch his performance in that film by going to “SOULPOWER BIG BLACK” on YOUTUBE.COM. You can also see it at his website at:bigblackmusic.com along with other bio info and videos etc.
We are putting a Golden Jubilee Tour for Black and would love to include Glastonbury on it. He has never played in the UK and I know his fans there would love to see him.
Personally, I have climbed the Tor andwould love to go back and do it again:)
    Best Regards

tickets applied for at 9.17 am yesterday. Stopped after pushing the button to submit payment details and then registration numbers were unable to be used again. Still not had a confirmation email 38½ hours later – however on the seetickets site on the “order tracker” page was able to enter the registration numbers and get back an ‘official’ seetickets order reference !!!! and then was able to key that in with my email to show my order status ! I’ve got tickets (it would appear). Sorry to those of you who haven’t – but hope this note helps some of you trace your orders … :-) good luck everyone

have since spoken to seetickets regarding card transactions that haven’t gone through and apparently they are going to be emailing people who had problems with the bank declining their card and they will be given the chance to re-enter their bank details and not lose out on the tickets they have bought!! Happy days can now carry on planning my festival hat!!!!! wohooooooooooooooAA

i cant believe this. went to put payment down yesterday and they have sold out. its ridiculous to sell out tickets before we even get to next year. some people didnt even know you could get tickets early and were waiting until january to buy them. i hope they re issue some more!

  97. Gary Piper on October 6th, 2009 11:59 am

I have to say that I spent a number of hours worrying if I actually got my tickets or not as once I submitted my payment details I was booted off the site and could not get back on. It took 24 hours for my acknowledgement email to say I had tickets and in the mean time the site said the festival was sold out. A friend of mine had the same problem but still has not received the confirmation email! It must have been predicted how busy it was going to be so I do not understand how this was not planned for, Gary (a tad disgruntled, but looking forward to Glasto 2010!)

  98. Clare on October 6th, 2009 12:00 pm

It’s the same every year but with sheer determination 2 phones and a laptop on the go i finally managed to get tickets for my 14th time…. Only then to wait a whole day for conformation… This system is a nightmare, it’s stressful and very, very annoying for those who’s orders dont go through… I’m happp]y i got mine but feel for those who havn’t…x

  104. Paul on October 6th, 2009 12:04 pm

I purchased 2 lots of tickets. First was at 9am, which was painless and the second at 9pm, there was still alot of traffic but i got through.
Too many people blame seetickets for not being able to recover their ref numbers on the day, but why leave it that late?!
Considering 100s of thousands of people were directing their traffic to see and see were sending out emails plus all the people staying on the site after they had tickets, see done a good job.

Picture it at Glasto you want to go 100 metres down the street this should take a minute or so right, then all of a sudden hundreds of people are coming at you, that 100 metres will now take alot longer. Think peeps

  105. jim C on October 6th, 2009 12:04 pm

yet again, see tickets manage to make a real dogs dinner of the ticket sales..

how easy must it be for servers to handle the transactions without the site timing out, or breaking a half completed transaction.

I think someone must take this on next year and make a better job of it..

cloud services offer scalable servers coping with demand… try amazons ec2..

  106. Rebecca on October 6th, 2009 12:07 pm

Tickets booked at 9.17. Confirmation at 15.57. Site totally rubbish though. Had no idea at all if the transaction had actually gone through!!!

  107. Lorraine on October 6th, 2009 12:10 pm

see tickets really nedd to sort themselves out as many people are frustrated and annoyed. i have been going since 1991, oh the halcyon days of wondering a few months before if u might go and getting a ticket straight away, BUT the festival is popular, we go as a family – ispend 5 quality days with my sisters and hubbies and my own family and a great bunch of friends allof which have managed to get tickets but while i am basking in our luck, a few of us were not sure until that final email which took 8 hours and then after a message on FB looking to check it WAS in the tracker system phew!!!! i think anyone that got through and then got chucked out should get priority! but how they do that god only know. the major point is. ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. they knpow upto 200, 0000 people may try for tickets – get server capacity and get the temps in, if this is the way its going to be SEETICKETS SORT IT OUT FOR NEXT YEAR PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  108. mandie on October 6th, 2009 12:10 pm

    hi

looks like i had the same problem as the majority of you all.
i logged on at 8.55 and entered reg. no for me and my friend then it crashed..and again etc
eventually it asked me for card no. i entered that then it crashed again and again etc!!
tried again and it said a deposit had already been placed…however wasnt really sure what had happened because like i say it had crashed.
tried ringing all day to ask ..engaged ..then eventually got through then was cut off!!
anyway kept trying till 3 o clock ..no luck.
however i was lucky enough to get an e mail confirmation just after 3 so i had no need to be ringing all day after all, but like i said before just didnt know if i had my ticket or not.
    Never mind sorted now.

  109. James Heal on October 6th, 2009 12:13 pm

Got my tickets after about 10 minutes or so of loading and a couple of error pages. Having booked online the past 3 years i was used to it though. The real shoddy part was upon completion of booking getting an unrecognised page – i understand this happened a lot. I reloaded the page to see confirmation, but a lot of people had to go through the order process again to see they’d put a deposit down.

I agree that it is a joke See Tickets can’t handle the numbers coming to the site – The Twitter, Facebook argument is slightly redundant 50 times the Glasto numbers aren’t going to one specific page like in this case, but all major ticket agencies should be capable of holding the numbers for big events. Fans of Pearl Jam and Arctic Monkeys have already suffered this year at the hands of major corporate ticket agencies with lacking technical resources….

  110. Kelly A on October 6th, 2009 12:13 pm

We did get tickets but it tooks ages and was more annoying than previous years. Normally, once you’re actually on the site, you can get from one page to the next easily. This time, just getting through the booking screens was a nightmare. We put in payment details but then it crashed and we had no idea whether it had gone through or not. The only way we could find out was by trying from the beginning again when it wouldn’t let us because ‘a deposit had already been paid’ against the registration numbers. Have now had a confirmation email.

  111. Amy on October 6th, 2009 12:13 pm

got through before 9am then webpage froze so went back to start, then got through again by 9.15am to payment page – before getting a call to say friends in australia had managed to buy us all tickets at 8 o’clock in the morning!

so in all in all it was a ball.

that said, firstly, the seetickets registration checker the night before wouldn’t recognise any of our details when we entered our registration number to double check everything.

also, now when we enter our booking number (sent by email) on the seetickets website to check it’s legit, it doesn’t recognise our booking! is a bit of a crappy system in that regard.

having said that – not complaining, as off to glasto! yippee-ay-yay.

  112. melanie on October 6th, 2009 12:20 pm

i logged on at 5 minutes to 9, i had my 2 tickets by 9 am!! i am over the moon, but alot ov my friends had alot of trouble, i was able to refresh my details and get a ticket for a friend who could not get thru, sorry to those of you who couldnt get tickets, and as its the 40th anni versay i think that loyal attendants of Glasto should have got priority, everyone is jumping on the banwago as its the 40, just hope it’s not full of idiots next year.

I had to refresh a number of times but other than that it wasn’t too painful!

  114. Simon N on October 6th, 2009 12:23 pm

I have been to the last 5 Glasto’s

2004 – Took me over 24 hours but eventually got through by phone. Cue muchios excitement, my first Glasto woohoo!

2005 – My PC pretty much laughed at me when i tried to get them but a mate eventually came through for me about 7 hours after they came on sale. Maybe if he hadnt i would have shrunk by about 3ft in the rain.

2007 – My crappy old PC had a moment of genuis after about 3 hours and i managed to buy my own as well as a few mates within 4 hours. Confirmation followed a few hours later. Twas a hero that year i tell ye!

2008 – joined the usual early morning panic merchants but after a couple of hours of the same 70,000 people pressing refresh it was eventually my turn, pretty easy really….thanks JayZ.

2009 – Bit tougher this time out, reckon it took about three hours. Must have refreshed about twelvety thousand pages, so sorry if everything kept crashing as it was probably my fault.

2010 – Having heard that the tickets went on sale a bit before 9 last year i had a cheeky early attempt to snap up my tickets and hey presto by 8-58am they were safely secured with the confirmation email turning up by 9-38. I guess that means i got my tickets in -2 minutes. Maybe its because i went on early but i also have all registration numbers and my credit card number on a word doc and used cut and paste to get the job done. Either was i was very excited to get the tickets booked so early…..dont ruin it all by getting U2 or Coldplay as headliners please Mr.Eavis.

For those who have not got their tickets i really feel that a lot of people reserve tickets without knowing if they are going to go or not. There will be another chance for you!

    Keep the Faith Obi Wan

this is my third time at glasto and i did manage to get 4 tickets at 9:38 , site crashed after applying card details as everybody else s did, thankfully wen i went to re book it said i had already paid a deposit on reg no s. facebook helped me alot as it let me know that if this was apearing then you have got your tickets, and that confirmation was taking a while to go through , i stayed of the seetickets site to let other people have a chance. after a very nervous wait confirmation came through 3:30. for the past three years money has not been taken out of my account straight away. so that didnt worry me. did try to calm people down on facebook to no avail.leading up to oct 4th i double checked everything reg no s were still outstanding well they should have been but they werent but i had time to reregister everyone n double check again , had all tickets to my addr, had money in my account for everyone over a week before , i really dont think some people got themselves organised, problems will always occur, in which they did for me but i had plenty of time to try and sort them out. i am really sorry for people who did not get tickets, if it was me i already warned people to keep away from me for at least a week to calm down, i would have been gutted . i read above somebody saying about slow broadband , well i live in the valleys and my broadband is terrible, everybody had the same chances of getting a tickit, and hopefully as the tickets will be released out a majority of the disheartened people will be able to get theirs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I was worried about this so used another registration number I had which went through fairly easily. I wasn’t sure whether I had a ticket from my first attempt but after checking my emails.. I have 2!! I called seetickets to try get a refund but they told me to call back on Friday or Sat as the systems have totally gone down and they have no access!? WTF?! Pretty lame system if you ask me…

  119. Natalie on October 6th, 2009 12:27 pm

We did eventually get our tickets, although it did take us approx 15 minutes to get on the site (we started trying at 9am when the tickets went on sale). We gave up trying to get on the site via the direct link…we got on to the site via one of its extension links then navigated back to the home page. We were a bit disappointed that the only form of payment was via a debit card. It would have been good if payment via credit card etc was available.

  120. me on October 6th, 2009 12:29 pm

They should definitely do something about making their servers better but until then it’s just pot luck if you manage to get through or not. I didn’t start trying to buy mine until about 2pm and it took me an hour or so to get through and I managed to get a ticket! This will be my first Glastonbury and I’m so glad it’s the 40th anniversary one I’m attending. Sorry to those who didn’t get one!
If you still really want to go then you can try the oxfam site and steward at it. My friend did it this year and you only work 8 hours a day and you choose whther to work am or pm. She didn’t miss any bands she wanted to see.

  121. 1000yardstare (worcester) on October 6th, 2009 12:32 pm

Easiest most painless ticket day ever. Not sure why?
Had tickets by 09.30 after trying to log on from 09.00. Could have had them by 0915 if hadnt messed up postcodes. Was attempting to buy more for friends at midday and got straight back in to order page but he had got them at same time. Gutted for everyone who didnt get them

  122. Nick on October 6th, 2009 12:32 pm

Kept getting a HTTP server error after clicking on links/ entering my registration number – very annoying.

I eventually made it the so called ‘queue’. Spent a couple of hours sat waiting to be asked to enter my card details but nothing happened. When I looked at the HTML behind the page I realised all the ‘queue’ page was doing was refreshing the page. In other words, there was no queuing system.

Not wanting to have to start again, dealing with the constant server errors, I called my brother to help out. He sorted it all online within 10 minutes, whilst I was still sat at my computer waiting. Very frustrating!

What I can’t understand is why they don’t actually implement a queue system, using IP addresses as markers. This would be much fairer, simpler and less frustrating!!

  123. Sophie Miller on October 6th, 2009 12:38 pm

To be honest, the only problem I had was the confirmation page not appearing. Tried again and told the numbers already had tickets. Then got a message on facebook AND twitter saying if the numbers show as used then they have an order – a great way of communicating a message when people couldn’t get through on the phone or online. So I would say Seetickets: WIN really. There will be disappointed people if the demand exceeds the supply and I’m afraid that’s life – I’ve missed out before. This time I was lucky.

  124. Julie Roche on October 6th, 2009 12:39 pm

i got my 3 tickets after tryin a few times i usually have a few windows opening i have managed every year, i also went back on later to see if it was still posible and i managed to get on again after just a few attempts. most of the time it is due to how fast your own broadband is and possibly how depending on where you are. My friends get on easier in huddersfiled than in manchester and most of the time i reckon see tickets dont allow you on the site for bout 20-30 mins because of the amount of people trying. i wish it was alot less stressfull but when you get the ticket you feel much more rewarded. best thing to do is have as many people on there comp tryin at once someones broadband maybe faster than others.

  127. Meg on October 6th, 2009 12:40 pm

Yes we love the festival, yes we love the music and all there is to do, but this ticketing process is awful. I got through on the website after 40 mins which I was pleased about but then after entering in my debit card details, it crashed. I re-entered everything and it went through but it didn’t leave me with the most secure feeling in the world – especially as I was booking for 5 people. We invest a lot of time (some people = a whole day), money (price increases AGAIN) and patience (anyone stuck in the 9 hour traffic jam last year???). I bet its an absolute mission for the organising team to sort out 180k people every year but a few tweaks here and there will make a world of difference.

i booked my tickets at 9:30 within 2 minutes it was such a breeze although the tracking service was on a tea break all day. panic’d a bit because i didnt receive my confirmation e-mail straight away thinking that i hadn’t read something or not pressed a final submit button but i received the confirmation e-mail the following morning. CANT F*CKING WAIT FOR IT!!!

  130. tamalyn on October 6th, 2009 12:49 pm

i went online at 1pm as i had totally forgotton about the tickets, took me a few clicks to get on the right page as server timed out etc, put in my reservation numbers, then entered, page came up error, refreshed a few times till next page came up entered that one too, errors again refreshed few times then page came up to take my payment, entered those and error again! worried that it hadnt gone through i kept trying again, then after a tense 15 mins it said that my numbers had already paid deposit! so checked my emails and at 5.50am next day my confirmation finally came.

was a bit anoyed at seetickets because these error pages shouldnt come up inbetween paying etc. hasnt happened before. they should know how many people will try as people have to be registered! duh!

  131. KevP on October 6th, 2009 12:49 pm

I really do feel for all those who did not get a ticket. I was part of a group of 8 and by the time they put in everyones reg number the website bombed out on many occasions. As we were all phoning each other I deceided to go it alone. I did manage to get a ticket but by the end of the day 5 of the group of eight never. The 3 of us that decided to get our own managed to get tickets. So now the other 5 are complaining to us as to why we never got theirs.

  132. Jo on October 6th, 2009 12:50 pm

Looks like it was either dead easy or dead hard.

For the first time in many years I found it ok – it wasn’t perfect though. Didn’t see the confirmation screen and went back to find the message ‘registration has already paid deposit’ – all done by 9.10am but had to wait 7 hours for confirmation.

To the person who is venting specifically about Micheal Eavis ruining their life up there……you don’t sound like you’d enjoy Glastonbury anyway – perhaps V would be more your cup of tea.

For all those who were unsuccessful this time – if you want it badly enough you’ll find a way. Don’t lose hope yet.

  134. cowboy on October 6th, 2009 12:53 pm

you have 200k (and that’s being generous) people all trying to get on the same website at the same time. 180k tickets available. that means 20 k people will be disappointed. when you have a lot of those people using multiple computers, multiple connections, multiple windows, ringing on their mobiles, and landlines, what do you expect?
The system fell down a bit. When people then ignore that the message that their number has been used and try and try to get into the site you end up still with 200k people all banging away on the phone and various internet windows.
We could go back to the old days where the tickets were only available in HMV, but at least with this system you cut out a load of the touts.
For the record, my ticket order was successful, and am glad that they didnt use ticketmaster (ref: Catherine) as their system repeatedly rejects my card, and their help desk doesnt help or answer queries with anything other than pre-written/automated responses rather than a human benig.

  135. Andy on October 6th, 2009 12:56 pm

No problems getting our tickets. I was logged into the site from about 8.30. Just before 9 I refreshed and started entering my details for the booking. All done without any problems by 9.05. Three other people also had their bookings completed by 9.30. Not sure whether it became more difficult later on??

  136. Lucy on October 6th, 2009 12:57 pm

    I got a ticket. :)
But for those who didn’t, dont worry, more go on sale around April-ish time.

  137. Carly Jayne on October 6th, 2009 12:59 pm

I totally agree about Seetickets investing in better servers. There are many other websites out there that can handle an even greater demand of users. I found it quite difficult this year to get hold of a ticket in previous years it has been really easy but it was incredibly slow and kept crashing all the time. I was lucky however and did manage to get a ticket but i was on the laptop and the iPhone at the same time trying to get one! I didn’t bother with the phonelines as from past experience thats just a deadend!! The email took ages to come through aswell which did worry me a little because until that email comes through you don’t fully believe you have that golden ticket so for the whole day and more and i was constantly checking!!

  138. Laura on October 6th, 2009 1:01 pm

I reckon we should make a human pyramid and climb over the fence. Theres no way on earth Im missing out. I will get in there somehow.

  139. Adriana Mordente on October 6th, 2009 1:06 pm

BAD! Couldn’t get worse for me. First, I got registered after a second attempt. Then when the tickets started selling/booking I did not get notified by mail. I found out when my friends where publishing at FB. Then, they made up letters in my post codes nevertheless I gave them the correct one, probably because I live in South America, and again was not notified. So I could not book/buy any tickets and I tried all fucking day!
Yesterday, when the tickets had sold out, and after finding what their invention of my post code is, turns out I don’t exist in their online database, no matter what postcode they tell me to put. Supposedly I do appear on theirs.
I don’t know what else to do. Glasto 2010 I have been anxiously waiting for the last 5 years. I am so pissed at them.
To make things easier I’m not even in the UK, I’m from Italian-bolivian and live in Argentina.

  140. Sam on October 6th, 2009 1:13 pm

I was online for over 2 hours as was a mate, spoke to my brother who went online and got them in 2 mins. Luck of the draw I am afraid. There maybe should be some sort of priority system for people that go every year, where were all these people 2 years ago? One sunny glasto and everyone wants in… Good luck in April, see you there, maybe…..

  141. Richard on October 6th, 2009 1:17 pm

Don’t know what all the fuss is about.
I had a lie in on Sunday, logged on to seetickets.com at 10.25am, got straight through to purchase my tickets and received a confirmation email 6 hours later. Easy Peasy!!

  142. Claire on October 6th, 2009 1:22 pm

This year I had a relatively short 15 min battle. From reading this I can see I was VERY lucky!

The biggest joke I had was two years ago when See inputted our postcode incorrectly so when trying to do it over the net it didn’t recognise it. Phone lines were jammed so we thought we were out of luck. Went to the pub to drown our sorrows, came back pi55ed, pressed the re-dial button on the phone and got straight through, always wonder how many people just gave up that year, was the year tickets didn’t sell out till the first day of the festival.
Feel for people who didn’t get them, good luck with the second batch in 2010, hope to see you there!

  143. John E Boy on October 6th, 2009 1:24 pm

I really, really feel for all of youse who have missed out. I had my ticket confirmation email at 9.18 am 04.10.09! No hassles, no hiccups, no problems. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones who managed to get in before the mad rush crashed the servers…

I agree with all of your comments that Seetickets really ought to get their servers sorted out.. afterall it should not come as a surprise that there will be a manic rush for those sacred golden tickets from the very moment that the online boxoffice opens it cyberspace portals!!

The rush was predictable and anticipated, afterall Glasto is by far the Biggest and Bestest festival in the Whole Wide World, the entire organisation knows that the world and his wife all want to be there! There is every reason to invest some of the multi millions that the event generates each year into a better online ticket sales service. There really is no excuse not to have already done so!!

On a brighter note it is inevitable that more tickets will be made available. It’s only the first batch of tickets that thus far have been made available that have sold out….. so folks don’t be disheartened, don’t give up hope and prepare yourselves for the next batch!

see u in the healing fields after sunset…..

  144. Matty on October 6th, 2009 1:27 pm

spent 8 hours trying to get through on website and on phone, when i did get through they had no record of my registration, even after i had sent them confirmation email they had sent me! very very very annoyed, this will be the first glastonbury that i have not got tickets for for over 15 years :-(

  145. Mandy on October 6th, 2009 1:28 pm

I don’t think seetickets have done such a bad job. I’ve managed to get a ticket every year since they have been doing it. It was much more difficult before. It only took me 10 mins to get on the website and buy the tickets this year. Last year I was there for about 6 hours n the year before was even longer. I feel for all the people who didn’t manage to get tickets, not nice especially if all your mates are goin. The emails from see tickets have taken over a day to come for me the last 3 years so don’t stress about that.

  146. Claire on October 6th, 2009 1:37 pm

I was on the site at 8.30am the tickets went on sale at about 8.50am I got mine straight away and a confirmation E-Mail about an hour later.

  147. Katie Tupper on October 6th, 2009 1:41 pm

I have been for the last 2 years and was up at 9am ready to get the tickets but wasn’t allowed on the site as it kept crashing, (just like last year) but I just kept trying to get on the site and then at 9.20 bought two tickets with ease. I was prepared for a scrum for tickets and that’s why I was up early to get them, the people that went on at 9pm and thought there would be any should have gone on earlier! It’s the 40th Anniversary!!!!! COME ON!!

  148. Jason Nicholas on October 6th, 2009 1:42 pm

Was online @ 8:58 when they went on sale. Got through after about 10 minutes. At the stage where you need to confirm you want the tickets the site crashed. I assumed they hadn’t gone through so tried again, but the site wouldn’t let me any further as it said I could not use my registration number twice. I took a gamble that this meant the tickets had gone through. They had.

seetickets don’t seem to learn. This problem first occured back in 2004. But then they put them onsale at around 20:00 on a week night. I was still sat in front of my PC with the telephone pressed to my ear at 5am the next morning. They sold out and I didn’t get to go that year. Work the next day was not fun.

Bought some phonics tickets a few weeks back. They put through two lots. Oasis tickets the end of last year, three lots (£400 worth of tickets) I only wanted a pair. I wouldn’t mind but it takes them 2mins to take the money and 3-5 working days to refund their mistakes. Glastonbury last year the whole site was bogged down for 4ish hours.

seetickets need to sort it out. Not just for Glasto but for all ticket sales.

  149. Sharon Ford on October 6th, 2009 1:45 pm

I am absolutely livid. A whole day of trying to get onto a website that was permanently loaded, and when I did finally get through to the bpooking stage, nothing else would happen. I’ve been to Glastonbury every year since I can remember, and am fed up of the ticket pallaver. Not going this year though eh?? THANKS!!

  150. Daisy on October 6th, 2009 1:57 pm

I don’t know why people are so suprised and angry, doesn’t this happen every year?
If i’d have missed out i’d have been disappointed but not suprised and definately not angry.
According to my conforimation email (which took me around 6hrs to get and didn’t worry me since it said give it 24) my order went through at 9:07am, even though it crashed a whole load of times.

  151. Dru on October 6th, 2009 2:01 pm

just did get anywhere on the site just saying that it is over loaded from 9 until it was sold out. this just is not good at all

  152. xMandyx on October 6th, 2009 2:08 pm

Although I think there is room for improvement as far as See Tickets’ system is concerned, we don’t know how many people registered & were therefore all attempting to get tickets simultaneously.

Add to that the amount of traffic caused by people re-entering registration numbers to check their bookings, making duplicate orders in error, as well as people trying the Ticket Tracker… no wonder it was chock-a-block!

However, I was successful in getting a ticket – as I have been for the past 10 years – so I only have my own experience to go off.
I must admit, that this year was the easiest I have ever know. I got onto the booking page at 08:55, got the confirmation screen at 9.06 & got my confirmation email at 12.30. Money went out of my account yesterday. In fact it was so easy, I assumed everyone had forgotten about it! All these poor folk struggling was news to me!

I’m really gutted for everyone who didn’t get a ticket but I must say I’m really, really chuffed for all those that did – especially all the first-timers – seems like there are loads this year. You’re gonna love it!!!

    Roll on June ‘10 :D

  153. PinkFox on October 6th, 2009 2:09 pm

Double check that your payment has gone out because even though you get a confirmation email – if the payment hasn’t come out you might not have tickets – that is whats happened to me but apparently seetickets are in the process of sorting out ‘problem’ payments! fingers crossed!

  154. Jamie Durent on October 6th, 2009 2:30 pm

I feel I am one of the lucky ones, as I like many was up at the crack of dawn and online for 9am, and I sat there for 4 hours without being able to connect, whence I gave up. I tried again in the afternoon, around 3:30pm as a last hope, and got straight through. And I agree with the general consensus, seetickets did not handle this in the best way at all, and should probably not do ticket handling for future glastonbury’s

  155. Lynzi on October 6th, 2009 2:39 pm

I have just realised how lucky I have been reading all the comments posted on here. I went online about 4.30pm this year and after a few refreshes and having to re-enter my details a couple of times my ticket had been confirmed!!!
So sorry to hear how many people struggled, they should release the tickets that people can’t pay for in 2010 again so all hope is not lost yet Good Luck All!!! (I remember before seetickets where I listened to an engaged tone for 36 hours before finding out they were sold out) xx

  156. Andrew Last on October 6th, 2009 2:44 pm

I had no problem buying the actual ticket, as I managed within ten minutes of them going on sale. The thing I was annoyed about was not receiving a confirmation reference number onscreen at the time of purchase. This left myself, and plenty of other people wondering if their purchase was actually successful. People trying to find out if they actually had tickets, was one of the main reasons the server was so busy. My e-mail confirmation took over four hours to come through.

Having torn my hair out for over four hours (via Ticketmaster) to successfully buy Michael Jackson tickets, this was a breeze!

  157. kirsty webb on October 6th, 2009 2:45 pm

Got through online immediatly and had 4 tickets by 9:05am. I then tried ringing to check I had them ( I had problems last year). For 2 hrs I was on the phone and all I got was an engaged tone. I even tried See Tickets customer services, and other numbers- I basically added different ending to main ticket number ie; 084441246(35) (36) (37) (38) it worked perfectly last year! I also managed to get an extra ticket online at 10am! I suppose I shouldn’t complain as luckily I have tickets, but the phone line method was appalling, internet all the way.

  158. Neil on October 6th, 2009 3:15 pm

We have had the same problem as all of you it seems! Entered all my details and had to keep refreshing every page…finally entered by card details and never got any further, the site just crashed.
When I came out and tried again it said a deposit had already been made against my registration number.
This was all at 9:10. Only managed to confirm this by speaking to Seetickets at 13:20 after continual trying.

Did strike me that they simply can’t handle the volume of traffic. It’s all well and good to say ‘you should expect this to happen’, but in this day and age it shouldn’t, end of.

  159. Nik b on October 6th, 2009 3:25 pm

Seriously guys, what do you expect with 120,000+ tickets? that probably means about 50,000 emails to send out?

Of course there are going to be people without tickets, that’s why it sold out! There’s a lot of things that I can’t get tickets for but I can’t complain every time, it’s just not worth it. There are going to some people that say that they got through to the payment screen then it crashed before taking the money. That’s what happenned to me, so I trie to go through the process again. It said that the deposit was taken when I re-tried, so that was good enough confirmation for me.

Anyway got the confirmation at 4am the next day.

  160. johnny on October 6th, 2009 3:27 pm

Quite a few people i know didnt get tickets but I got mine in ten minutes with a confirmation email half an hour later. I know see tickets get a lot of crap for this but most of it is not their fault. Its the payment processing that kills it. unfortunately sundays are a bad day for banks! After all you are talking about processing 8.5million pounds minimum of cash and the banks check that sort of money leaving accounts! My understanding of the banking process means that see tickets are at the mercy of the banks dragging their feet and more servers for see tickets would make things worse not better. Sunday was chosen by glastonbury as a day where most people would be available to purchase tickets. not a lot they can do.

What i would suggest is checking the see tickets website every day, especially the month before the festival. quite a few tickets were returned last year and several of my friends were able to purchase tickets the week before the festival. good luck to all those who missed out

  161. Diane Law on October 6th, 2009 3:28 pm

Got online within 20 minutes, had two tickets by 9.20am and confirmation about 4 hours later

  162. maddie on October 6th, 2009 3:35 pm

I got a ticket but had a problem with my debit card. It says it only accepts debit cards and that was what I had but it claimed that I was trying to use a credit card. Had to run around to find someone who had 100 pounds on a card for me to borrow. Then once payment details were entered the page disappeared, it wasn’t until about 12 hours later I recieved a confirmation email. The website wouldnt work immediately, and at one stage I was in a queue for over over 2 hours and then someone right next to me could get onto the payment page. It was a fairly ridiculous system. The phoneline never worked once either.

  163. dave crossman on October 6th, 2009 3:36 pm

woke up at 5 passed nine had my ticket by seven mins passed 9 work fine bit slow but what to u expact so many people on one site trying to do the same thing. bring on glasto 10.

  164. Max on October 6th, 2009 3:37 pm

i put my details in, and at 9:03, it went on to the online queue, as in it all day, and then my money was taken and my conformation email came!! can’t wait :) sure it will be great, although really annoyed i was sat by my comp all day to find it worked anyway and my mate i was staying with got his in 7 mins!…but i’ve got them so i’m chuffed :D lol

  165. Hayley on October 6th, 2009 3:49 pm

I spent all day trying to access the see tickets page, but kept being thrown off. I eventually got through to the page of entering my reg number and post code and was then placed in a Q. I was sat in this Q for almost 4 hours. Everytime i closed the page and re-opened it would come straight up with the Q page again!

Thankfully a friend who had already purchased tickets that morning managed to get through again with my reg number. The page crashed 3 times on the payment page but i recieved a confirmation email yesterday!

I reall feel for anyone who did not get tickets, it was a very frustrating day!

  166. Andrew Bulman on October 6th, 2009 3:52 pm

I payed wiht my parents card it took a lot of refreshes and going back but after about 30 mins i went back and it said my number had already got a depostie connecting to it so i just hoped that this meant it had done! all my friends luckly told me it would take about 4 hours plus to get a email confimation so i was happy.
Luckly they had the thing in place so that once the deposite had gone through u couldnt make another on the same registration! or else who knows i could of been paying out £200 just for a depostie!

That day i got my email saying i had got a ticket im happy i know it was a bit scary at first but getting up at 9 payed off even though the website did go down meaning i had to refresh or just go really slow! GLASTO 2010 HERE I COME :D

  167. Laura on October 6th, 2009 4:00 pm

    See tickets os a legend!!
Got the three tickets that i wanted so I’m there. :) .
    Goodtimes.

  168. David Hallsworth on October 6th, 2009 4:01 pm

I had 4 tickets purchased online at 0855, I went on again about 1530 to get another one for a friend and that took me about half an hour but got through and got one.

I have suffered in the past and not got near a ticket so this year was nice nut I feel for you guys who failed. ouch!

I guess when there is such a demand there will be problems but see do not have a good system and it is about time that Glastonbury festival realised this. For goodness sake we pay enough booking fee to them!!

  169. Karla hunter on October 6th, 2009 4:04 pm

    Stupid glastonbury,
this would be my first year and they sold out,
i got through to where you could order them in like 4 mins, then was unable to buy them cause the credit card details could not go through,
i think that glastonbury&seetickets should resverve some tickets for the days after they sell them so people have an equal chance E.g if they were going away for the weekend or something.
i am really really sad that did not get a ticket and seetickets should just freaking reserve some for the day after.
i will be highly annoyed if i dont get a ticket in april fromm the cancelled orders or if they didnt go through, anyone got an idea when they will sell some more?

  170. ryan on October 6th, 2009 4:18 pm

read through a few of these, we were on seetickets for half 8, and just kept refreshin, they went on sale about 8.55, and then it was like the server was in meltdown, but ten mins later got through to the payment page, but you click on something and it goes to page cannot be displayed howvere alot of you say you went back and started again, but i just kept clickin refresh so it save my details and then it took about five mins and was sorted…i feel sympathy for all thos who did not get a ticket..

when i found out seetickets would be handling this i was mortified, when i tried to get them crooked vultures tickets, it was the biggest chambles in the world, there customer service was shocking and even tho i had a pre-sale code from days before, i spent 4 hours with no luck tryin to get a ticket, instead within half hour on ticketmaster i was sorted…

see tickets are useless, so hopefully next year the glasto organisers will go with someone could like ticketmaster who actually care about the people that make them money

  171. barry on October 6th, 2009 4:23 pm

got through to the payment bit after 3 hours then it directed me elsewhere. tried again and got a message saying my tickets had already been bought. got confirmation email monday night. yipee. im in again. hope you all get yours, there on sale almost daily so dont give up peeps. see you there.

  172. Tamara on October 6th, 2009 4:27 pm

I was online at 08.30 am, two pcs on and ready for the battle. At 08.50 I clicked on the Glasto website, clicked on the link, put my details through, had to refresh the page 3 times, eventually got the confirmation at 08.57. Not a problem, got the email many hours later.
I am going on my own! That’ll be fun!! eheheh

  173. Matt on October 6th, 2009 5:01 pm

“surley they cannot have sold all the tickets in 1 day…..thats got too be bullshite”
They commonly sell out within a couple of hours.

    About the servers seetickets used.
You have to remember that https (secure http) is a lot more straining on the server/s than normal http. All the info sent and received must be encoded and then sent.

Facebook and Myspace etc all use a lot of traffic daily. Seetickets only has a high number of requests on 1 day and for only a couple of hours. All the rest of the time the extra servers would be put to waste. Also the more servers that see tickets uses, the more they will charge to sell the Glastonbury tickets. That in effect equals more money per ticket. As if the tickets weren’t enough as it is.

  174. Matt Wolves on October 6th, 2009 5:11 pm

Sorry to hear so many people had hassle getting tickets. I started trying to get tickets about 8:45 and by 8:58 I had purchased two tickets. About an hour or so after my confirmation came through. This is my first Glastonbury so for me it was fine but after reading how many people had problems I think something could have been done better. From what I read loads of issues with phone lines and website crashing etc…

Fingers crossed you guys get one when they released the ‘dead sales’ later on.

  175. Graci on October 6th, 2009 5:13 pm

I got through at 8.57 (which surprised me) and i didn’t even have to refresh the page or wait for slow loading pages. was very very easy straight away! Maybe I was just lucky?!

  176. mart on October 6th, 2009 5:20 pm

I managed to get thru ok early on but there were a few nervous moments when pages stuck and it took a few refreshes to get to the payments page.
Have to pass on commiserations to those who didn’t get tickets. I would have been gutted too. Sorry guys.
Only advice I can give is get your mates together and pick some other festivals for 2010 and better luck next year.

  177. james ruddlesdin on October 6th, 2009 5:21 pm

it took me 5hrs to get nowhere…………..cheers then!!!!

  178. Emma on October 6th, 2009 5:22 pm

I was online at 8.55, and despite the pages not appearing properly kept hitting the refresh button until confirmation page appeared. Was concerned that the security screen didn’t appear, but got confirmation email through about 2 hours later.
I think the system experienced greater traffic than necessary as people were unsure they had been successful so kept trying again. Would have been better to give out a reference no. when you reached the confirmation page so people didn’t feel they had to keep trying, as these email things never come through quickly. Good luck to those trying again in April.

  179. sophie on October 6th, 2009 5:22 pm

I was ready to book for 9am, then to realise that the registration numbers I had were no good. I then went onto the See website where I could retrieve this information by entering my name and postcode I had registered with. I got through to this form about 15 times, each of which sent me to a blank page and at the bottom of the screen I could see a message saying ‘Waiting for (address)…’ I therefore couldn’t get a hold of my registration numbers and I have come away from this without tickets.

I feel that the website should have taken into consideration that this was the 40th year and there was obviously going to be a higher demand and should have strengthened their servers.

I have come away from this without tickets for next years festival and am extremely angry about.

  180. jill on October 6th, 2009 5:36 pm

I have to say that although I have got a ticket, I wasn’t impressed with my first experience with seetickets. The website seemed unable to cope with the somewhat modest demands when compared to a lot of other high volume sites. I was also quite concerned that once you placed an order no confirmation appeared…after refreshing many times a message eventually came up saying that my reg number had been used. Also concerning was that although I have a verified by visa account the transaction went through without me entering my password…which makes me wonder about the security of the site and how they are handling my details.

  181. Chris on October 6th, 2009 5:37 pm

I guess I got lucky, was through to the payment screen at 8:58 and had the confirmation email about 9:20. My 2 housemates both got the nodes are too busy message, but testing there reference numbers it said they’d already booked a deposit and they had there confirmation emails by 11am.

My boss has been going for years and reckoned it was the easiest year yet and he was getting for 8 people.

  182. julie powell on October 6th, 2009 5:39 pm

i was in after 2 trys this year at 9.30 after previous years of sitting with 2 pcs and 3 hours later I couldnt believe it. So those who couldnt get through must have been really unlucky thats awful … hopefully there ll be some floating around soon with cancellations for you xx

  183. Daniel on October 6th, 2009 5:51 pm

Well to be honest I got my ticket very easy got the confirmation email after about 4 hours no problems at all.
At the end of the day you people say they should have been more prepared psshh, how much more prepared can you get they upload the link to buy your tickets then check through the payment details to send you the confirmation.
You all just need to realise it’s glastonbury it happens like this every year I had the same problem last year.
Tickets sell thats what their there for!!

  184. Elaine on October 6th, 2009 5:59 pm

First Glasto so didn’t know what to expect. Logged on 9.05am Sunday and after endless refreshing managed to enter payment details at 12pm – no confirmation email however until 4am yesterday.
Has come out of available balance on bank account but won’t believe has gone ok until payment has been debited.
Very happy to have two tickets i wanted but VERY frustrating day Sunday waiting to hear and feel for all those who weren’t successful as would have been gutted not to have got any….seems to have been a real lottery!

  185. billy phipps on October 6th, 2009 6:02 pm

i went on the pc at 9.01 and had a ticket by 9.07am and back in bed by 9.10am !!!

    piece of piss !!

just me and my 10y/o son this year !!!

    HAPPY DAYS !!!!

  186. simon on October 6th, 2009 6:04 pm

    It was a shambles.

I must have seen the ‘Traffic exceeds the website’s configured capacity’ window hundreds of times on Sunday. I appreciate that 180,000 people (potentially) would generate far, far more connections at once than just one each – especially as absolutely everyone sits there constantly clicking either back or refresh – but this should have been anticipated. Oh and it took 12 hours and 20 mins for my confirmation email to come through. It’s a very good job that the festival isn’t for 8 months or so – most people will have forgotten about it by then only to be even more pissed off when the same happens again.

The contract should be given to another, more competent agent for next year.

  187. Jo on October 6th, 2009 6:12 pm

I started trying at 9 but as others have reported the site kept crashing or telling you that you were in a queue. Finally got on about 10.30 and was on the payment page when it crashed again. Took another hour to get back on to the booking oage but when I put our ref nos in they said I had already paid. But I wasn’t convinced. However, got a confirmation email through at half past midnight. Phew!!! But what a nightmare.

  188. nic on October 6th, 2009 6:12 pm

i had no problems really apart from it took a long time to get the next page up & i had to keep refreshing, but i expected that as there was bound to be a rush for tickets so it was bound to get jammed.
    so excited! roll on june!!

  189. pete on October 6th, 2009 6:18 pm

Got my tickets within about 40 mins. I feel a lot of people did not refresh page possibly. See tickets usually do a good job, it’s just shear numbers that clog system and it’s the lucky few (alas) that get through. Good luck next the folks that didn’t get through.

  190. Zephy on October 6th, 2009 6:20 pm

    Go to Leeds instead!!

  191. Natalie on October 6th, 2009 6:21 pm

i expected to spend a whole day just refreshing webpages, and eventually got a ticket at 3 o clock. i have friends who were there and ready at 8:30 and got tickets fairly easily. seetickets can NEVER handle glastonbury time. it’s been YEARS since this all started, and they should be ready for the battle. it’s just like student finance. they just can’t handle the amount of people using the site. and that’s a fair point about facebook and twitter. if they can handle it, why can’t a large company like seetickets?
if it’s any consolation, tickets normally get put back on sale in about april time because people cancel their deposits.. and it’s even harder then.
consider litter picking – free ticket but 24 hours work over 5 days. it’s HARD work but worth it if you’re dying to go.

  192. jazz on October 6th, 2009 6:32 pm

tried to get some tickets, didnt work because it was too late to register and etc.. really wanted to go, because this would be my first time in glastonbury and of course i could almost sell my soul for those two tickets. maybe better luck next year.

  193. 'Sha on October 6th, 2009 6:51 pm

I was able to get all the tickets I needed to. We originally got through on the phones & tried to book 8 tickets all in one go. The girl serving us was really helpful but her system crashed so she said she’d have to call us back, which she did about half hour later. By then though, we had already started trying to book tickets online just 2 at a time, which seemed to work when we kept refreshing certain pages & by 11am, we had all of our tickets & email confirmations within 24 hours. I feel terrible for all those who didn’t, it is gutting & I can’t believe that Seetickets don’t run a scaled down version of their site to keep speeds up when selling tix at that volume!

  194. matt on October 6th, 2009 6:59 pm

I got my tickets at 7 on sunday evening! I thought i had missed out!!
took me 20 mins, but none of my friends managed it, so it looks like i’ll be going alone! I’ll see you there Tamara!!

  195. Michele on October 6th, 2009 7:03 pm

My friend texted me at 9.45am asking me if I’d had any luck. I was still in my bed I’d completely forgotten and yet I’d gone to bed thinking feck I must be up for 9 in the morning. Anyway I leapt out of bed and wasn’t even sure what do to should I ring or should I do the online thing, my eldest fella did it on line and was sucessful the second time for me. My three friends also got theirs ok too, although it took one of my friends till the afternoon to get hers but that was only because my big eejit of a son who’d originally registered had entered the wrong post code. Maybe it is something to do with the location I’m just North Of London too. Sorry I’ve written a story!!!

  196. Kirst on October 6th, 2009 7:08 pm

I tried for 5 hours. I was in a queue which kept timing out. I also kept refreshing. By the time i started to get anywhere I got the message that they’d sold out. See tickets = utter shambles!

  197. Ailsa on October 6th, 2009 7:10 pm

Feel for those who did not get through – trust me i know what that feels like. I found it the easiest year so far, and actually the only time i have made it through online. The phone number is a waste of time and money. Still think they should go for having some for sale in shops for those that don’t have good internet connection – it would be fairer and you couldn’t beat those days where you had to camp all night to get a ticket for something important!

  198. Cequenza on October 6th, 2009 7:11 pm

Me and my girlfriend did get tickets but it was hard going. I was ringing the phone line and she was on the web. The phoneline was utterly useless. I may have got through 10 times and it just rang out until it cut me off each time……and these calls are not free. I believe that pretty much nobody managed to buy tickets that way. It felt like a scam. The server was horrific. We…..like most people got wierd messages like “no available nodes, after entering card details…..which left us unsure of our purchase. Payment was made at 11.30 am, it turns out….we recieved confirmation at 3 am the next morning. So although, we were successful getting the ticket’s, we feel this company is simply not equipt to take on this job. I use my computer a lot and I know how little a decent server costs. To a large company selling tickets like this, it’s totally unacceptable for them to have such a poorly equipt, and shabby service. If this was how sites like Ebay were to do business, you wouldn’t use it at all. They knew they were the only outlet, and exploited that. Shame on you seetickets……I would certainly never book with them again for anything else. I urge the Glastonbury organizers to find either better outlets or have a very strict word with a seetickets director. My heart goes out to anyone, who tried and tried and got lost in a this woefull company’s mess.

  199. jim on October 6th, 2009 7:29 pm

I got through by 9.20 had conf by 11. Not sure what loadsof you were doing? Everyone I know who wanted one got one. If See tickes could tell us how many hits its phone and web got you will be amazed they coped at all.

Still preffered the old day getting em over the counter but touts are tw@s. Next time instead of moaning after the event get organised!

  200. Daniel Holcombe on October 6th, 2009 7:32 pm

I registered with my photo, and had that accepted, I wasn’t lucky enough to get the page to load to buy my ticket. I don’t think i’ll bother in the future, there are other festivals that CAN deal with the demand and are just as good.

  201. Georgina Meekcoms on October 6th, 2009 8:19 pm

Didn’t have any problems really apart from strange message saying ‘no nodes available’ but went back and checked and all six of the registrations I had entered had been used so assumed the booking went through. Got my confirmation shortly after. Feel that See Tickets probably handled things pretty well considering the volume they have to deal with!!! Everyone I know who wanted to go got one too, but then we did have a military like operation in force to get them!

  202. Susie Whatley on October 6th, 2009 8:26 pm

Me & my partner were lucky but we had friends who couldn’t book and we had to do it for them. Everyone I know going got tickets with no problems. I feel for the people who lost out.

  203. Simon Roberts on October 6th, 2009 8:34 pm

I did get two tickets, but have to say it was a very poor service from seetickets. Even in the weeks before the sale day I tried numerous times to check they had my registration details and each time it came back saying my number was not recognised. I even emailed them to ask them about a week before sunday but they never replied ! On Sunday I spent 2 hours trying to get through on phone and email and like the majority of people on here, I couldn’t get through it was only when I used the link from Facebook I got through and even then several crashes and having to use the back button was necessary to finally get the confirmation screen (and fromreading other comments this seems like a miracle) I’ve bought tickets for various events for the past 35 years , – some huge concerts included in this, and this was the worst experience I’ve had. They clearly were not prepared and their customer service is hopeless – how many ticket companies do not reply to emails 2 weeks before the tickets go on sale!! They will have made a mint out of this and left many people up shit creek. Give it to Ticketmaster

  204. Becky on October 6th, 2009 8:51 pm

You’d think after all these years of practice that Seetickets would know what to expect and have come up with a proper solution that deals with it. I, like many, I suspect, input my card details then splat, nothing. On re-try it told me that my number had been used. I still haven’t had a confirmation, nearly 3 days later, and its only the fact that I can see my booking on the ticket tracker that keeps me sane. Usual problems with web pages crashing, phone lines cutting off etc etc etc, but then I’ve got used to it now. These days, until I have the tickets in my hand (3 days before the event this year) do I actually believe I am going.
On the plus side, it seems to have sorted the touting.

  205. ap on October 6th, 2009 9:19 pm

Your always going to have people unhappy, at the end of the day, there are only so many tickets, if the seetickets were better at coping with demand then they would of just sold out even quicker and people would still complain. As for not getting a ticket this time, from past experience, there will be 3, 4 or maybe more times that tickets will go on resale, just keep looking at the glastonburyfestivals website and they will announce re-sales, those determined enough will get tickets.

  206. kim martin on October 6th, 2009 9:36 pm

i got my ticket, as always was a worry ive been going for 21 yeaars and missed out a few times its just the way the cookie crumbles, thanks micheal and emily your prices are high but its our yearly holiday so will see you in june, cant believe the people moaning on here its allways been a struggle to get a ticket man x

  207. richard on October 6th, 2009 11:12 pm

YES THERE WERE PROBLEMS BUT YOU WILL NEV ER KNOW THE TRUE FIGURE OF PEOPLE WHO LOGGED ON AT 9AM ON SUNDAY MORNING -I SAY GIVE THEM A BREAK

  208. John on October 7th, 2009 12:38 am

I feel the pain for those who have missed out but don’t lose hope there will be plenty to go around once they are re-issued.

I was on line at 9.30 and had 3 tickets by 9.35 and then a further 2 by 10, confirmation did not arrive until 15 hours later, just lucky this year..

  209. fairysparkles on October 7th, 2009 12:39 am

i am really sorry for people who did not get their tickets , but compared to last year it was so easy for me , we got ready for a day vigill on comp, i got up 7:30 kept comp on all night coz comp crap old totall scrap job had a coffee etc, to find my 10yr old daughter on one of these animation chat sites had to switch down my comp n start all over again coz it freezed at 8:50 awww lovely, after all my prep weeks n weeks before checking our reg was ok in which it was not and had to reregister all four of us again chasing them all for the money lol at least a week before and get it in my account … at 9:38 i got the tickets my hubbie had to litterly tell me reg nos coz i was shaking so much could not beleive we got on the site, and he s got a stammer pmsl , last year even though i had ticket our phone bill for that day ticks went on sale £23 even though i was trying on the comp as well , so for me m it was a brill system , but i did get everything and i mean every detail worked out a week ago paste n copy check secure link thingy password lol, everything…………. keep checking seetickets last year tickets were on sale 3 4 weeks before glasto but was not advertised

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  210. Tom Undy on October 7th, 2009 8:42 am

See Tickets did a poor job.

I managed to get a ticket after 2 hours of trying but I can’t understand why their site couldn’t handle the traffic! Every time you entered info to a page and proceeded to the next, the page simply crashed???

See Tickets are from what I know, the SOLE supplier of Glasto tickets and should have anticipated this sort of thing, ESPECIALLY as its the 40th anniversary!!!

Obviously there was going to be a lot of interest for 2010 and not everyone was going to get a ticket but I think that the tickets sales should have been spread out over a few weeks or even months!

All in all I think what See Tickets did was totally irresponsible…

  211. Burtie on October 7th, 2009 8:52 am

A few of us were logged on at about 8.30am and by about 9.20 had booked tickets. The only criticism I’d have is that the system did crash after I’d entered my card details, but by going back a page and trying again I got a message that a deposit had been taken and purchase had gone though – initially confusing but actually quite a good system (certainly in comparison to previous years).

Sorry for the people that were trying all day – I know how that feels. However, some of the comments such as “It’s unfair, they should have more tickets”, or “It’s unfair, I didn’t know about it”, or “It’s unfair, I didn’t try logging in until midday, they should sell some more the next day” are a bit much. If you really are keen to go, you do a bit of preparation and research, get up early and give yourself the best possible chance.

  212. Ian on October 7th, 2009 9:08 am

well, everyone i know who wanted tickets (which is alot of people) managed to get them, through perseverance. it wasn’t hard, you just had to keep refreshing often enough.

that’s exactly what everyone was doing, so the person who quoted 180,000 people using the site was nowhere close, everyone who got a ticket was carrying out hundreds of page requests, hardly the same as twitter or facebook!! (unless of course you’re the kind of person who makes a twitter post every 5 seconds?)

and to the person moaning that they have a slow internet connection in the countryside.. totally irrelevant, any delays were at seetickets’ end, not yours.

it’s hardly surprising that they sold out in a day, it is the 40th anniversary this year with some amazing once in a lifetime stuff already announced.

while obviously it’s pretty rubbish that the servers can’t handle the traffic, i don’t see why seetickets would want to upgrade them at all – they had X number of tickets available, and they all got sold successfully, so why spend money on expensive servers for a single day.

  213. Shah on October 7th, 2009 10:31 am

A friend managed to get my ticket – luckily!! this will be my 2nd Glasto, after reading all the comments I feel I should give it to someone who’s been going for years…………NOT! But really, I do feel for the ones who missed out, can you imagine what you’re going to miss…. I’ll shut up :-) hope some of you manage to get a ticket in April
    x

  214. Asent Mr Noonan on October 7th, 2009 1:12 pm

i got my tickets and the confirmation email was sent to me in about 20 hours. BUZZING i got a ticket but i feel for the thousands that couldnt swing it. this being my first glasto im nt sure what it was like previous years to get tickets but i found it pretty shabby waiting for hours to put in my information then having the website crash on me multiple times. tips for next year :
    DONT GIVE UP!!!

  215. jack on October 7th, 2009 4:29 pm

got 2 tickets by pure luck had 2 phones and internet going from 9 till 1 then gave up but at 4 had 1 last go on the web and got stright on but still pissed wiv seetickes as ten minutes after 9 i got thourgh and the prick on the over end sed hello then hung up. all well got tickets but they need sorting

  216. jem on October 7th, 2009 7:00 pm

  217. Ryan on October 8th, 2009 12:31 pm

Once again, I am outraged by the way see tickets has handled the ticket distribution, they have screwed up many times in previous years and I believe it’s time Michael and Emily look to another ticket supplier. I was lucky enough to get one but many people I know were on for hours with no luck.

My transaction crashed upon clicking submit and I was left waiting for an entire day – hoping for a confirmation email.

    Seetickets are an absolute shambles!

  218. Kev Adams on October 8th, 2009 2:55 pm

Although if I had missed out I would be fumming!!!!

CAT WAIT SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

  219. Emma-sue on October 8th, 2009 3:18 pm

I started trying to get tickets at 1.30, it took about 3 hours to get them, which is to be expected when its the 40th Anniversary, I’m really sorry for people who havent got them (some of my friends included) but did you really sit there for hours on end? refreshing the page, putting details in again & again? I’m sure some people who havent been successful did, and to them I am TRULY sorry, as they deserved tickets. but I bet the majority of people who were unsuccessful didnt try hard enough, or early enough, or they didnt think the anniversary would make a lot of difference to ticket sales patterns, frankly I’m sick of hearing about it. had I not got tickets, I wouldnt have had anyone to blame but myself for not trying early enough

  220. H on October 8th, 2009 6:31 pm

me and my friend went on at about 8.58 and they were up so we got clicking we managed to get our 8 then help other friends to get theres, so make sure you get clicking and refreshing early- mega chuffed :)

  221. Marie on October 12th, 2009 1:46 pm

Got our tickets by 9.10 am no problem. Had to refresh the screen a few times but it was relatively easy.

10 meg broadband might have helped…

To everyone without tickets – keep trying See tickets website regulary. I have read about a few people being able to get them here and there over the past week.

  222. Space Hamster on October 12th, 2009 10:44 pm

Phonelines & site were jammed constantly from 9am… usual story really. refreshing pages & listening to a busy tone… with a hangover from hell!!!
No worse than previous years I have to say (with the exception of last year which was no problem due to lack of demand!).

Luckily i had a good friend with a shit hot connection; who assisted greatly…
I’ll be there for the 40th party & i am much thankful that i have a great mate with a very good computer!

I don’t know what the answer actually is…
demand makes things pretty crappy & there will always be people who are unsuccessful. It’s not nice but we’ve all been there.

I will say one thing though; I know of many peeps who forgot to pay the rest of their money last year and lost their tickets at the end of February. There is still hope for the re-sales in March 2010!

    Good luck to all! x

  223. Ricky on October 13th, 2009 11:32 am

We got 8 tickets pretty much straight away, hardly any hassle, took only about 10 minutes!

obviously so happy we got them sorted out, but feel kinda bad for those who never got any =(

But this is my first year going to glastonbury and i cant wait!

  224. Jade on October 14th, 2009 2:40 pm

You’re absoulutley right. I ended up getting roped into getting tickets for one person I know and two I have never met before. We had three computers trying to get in all at the same time. Lucky for us this little shing dig people are talking about…we had the tickets paid for and confirmed in the first hour. Not a day to waste… but really I thought a few people with their guitars sitting around the campfire wouldn’t cause much a disturbance :P LOL

  225. eve martin on October 19th, 2009 3:41 pm

well my lovleys. no problem. Had conformation within the 24 hours that they stated. and confermed my tickets. iam a glastonbury virgin, and had no probs.

  226. Louise greenfield on October 31st, 2009 9:31 am

Awfully, yes I am bitter we didn’t get tickets! But seriously trying all day both on line and over the phone there were 3 of us in different towns trying, and nothing! One finally got through on the phone at 9.15 in the evening for the person on the end of the line just trying to book our tickets onliine like everyone else! At which point during the conversation we were told they were all sold out after being talking to a sales person for 10 minutes! What a joke. Not happy but I hope you all have a great time!
