    I think this band would be absolutely perfect because they would simply blow everyone away:

    MOGWAI

    Unbelievable band, unbelievable live and could have the impact Radiohead had when they played in circa late 90′s.

    Plus they haven’t headlined Glasto before so wouldn’t be a repeat of some of more recent headliners.

    If I had to go for someone who has headlined a stage before then I would go for:

    MASSIVE ATTACK

    Simply mindblowing.

    hey,

    so, some of the picks i made for the festival last year actually made it on the bill – SO TAHNK YOU FOR BRANDNEW! :)

    This year, i would love to see Minus The Bear up on a stage across the site. they have such a great discography and pinnacle influencers in many a modern band’s career

    I say it every year but PLEASE DEAR GOD get DAFT PUNK ON THE PYRAMID – you would be making an ageing festival goer a very happy man. you know it will be the best light show in the world and the best way to close what will be a truly monumental year!

    It has to be something really unique – how about inviting brand new supergroups? There are more and more collaborations like ’70s supergroups happening and what better way to celebrate Glasto through the years than by getting some of the most successful performers back, working together to do some real original and surprising stuff. I wouldn’t know where to start with suggesting people who’d work relish the challenge, because there are so many options – crossing over decades, genres, old rivalries… ooh – how much fun could you have with that???

    Led Zepplin reforming would make my life complete;
    I wasn’t able to see them the first time round as I don’t think I was even alive. Just imagine Sunday the suns setting and they are stage and they play the first couple of cords of kashmir I’m sorry but nothing could beat that moment in time the crowd would go mental and I’m sorry but kashmir is not a song but an anthem! I have goose bumps just thinking about it! This moment in time would make my life complete. To be honest this is one band that would appeal to everyone even those people who haven’t hear their music (yes apparently there are some) will listen to bands who have been influenced by led zeppelin! Do what it takes to get them there!

    Now that Pink Floyd are no more, the mantle of the UK’s biggest prog rock band lays firmly on Porcupine Tree’s shoulders. Let’s see them headline Glasto 2010

    can’t believe some of the crap bands people want to headline its glastonbury’s 40th anniversary the greatest festival in the world its not some chav v festival its the real deal, a good mixture of new up and coming bands like grizzly bear, tapes n tapes, wild beasts and battles with the old classics such as led zep ,bowie, fleetwood mac and pink floyd would make the perfect glasters, forget your mika’s, klaxons and ting tings if you want to watch them go to chav city v festival or somewhere, glasters rules crap pop doesn’t

    Please, for the love of god, get Rage Against the Machine. They are incredible and i’ve never got to see them and I have to before they stop gigging.

    After that, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters (or them crooked vultures) or perhaps a Led zepplin reformation! Good luck you’ll probably need it!

    The Wildhearts! Come on, Chtuzpah! was a classic album from the best British Rock band of the past 20 years, they have had nothing but good press the last few years, have a definitive line up, will get any crowd in a field on their feet and smiling and Ginger (their leader and singer) has been spotted at Glasto himself as a punter – so am sure is a fan of the festival as all those who have been are too. Take a chance Eavis and get the best little rock punk pop band pretty much EVER from England to give your 40th the injection of Chutzpah it needs!
